Swap-free (Islamic) forex accounts
How a swap-free account differs from a standard one, and what replaces the overnight interest.
What swap-free means
Positions held overnight normally pay or receive interest — the swap. A swap-free account removes it so the account can be used without riba. The broker recovers the cost another way, usually a wider spread or a flat administration fee after a number of days.
What to check before opening one
Ask which instruments are covered, whether the fee starts after a grace period, and whether it applies per lot or per position. Terms differ per broker and the difference shows up only on longer holds.
Trading forex and CFDs on margin carries a high risk of losing more than you deposit. Most retail accounts lose money. Nothing on this page is financial advice.
